Father Murder-Suicide

Man in Sac kills his wife, Bouavanh Moua, and twin toddlers Alexis and Mathew. He attempted to kill his other toddler. Child Protective Services (CPS) had previously removed his teenage daughter from the home after accusations of abuse.
She never really displayed anything emotionally or physically on her face. She was always upbeat, had a smile on her face, quiet. But always busy. Very hard worker. Incredible kid. There's a lot of teachers here that would take her home in a heartbeat to help her out.
Quotes like this bother me because they always paint familiars as being oh-so-shocked when tragedies occur. I find this insulting to the victims. Perhaps this teenager just loved school so much that she was able to put on a smile. It may have been her only escape from what was occurring in her household.

You can't always detect victims of abuse and their abusers. They don't walk around with t-shirts on identifying them.
There are also questions being raised as to why CPS removed the teen over suspicion she was being abused but did not take the three other children into protective custody...recent court rulings have determined that if there's no evidence of abuse involving siblings, they cannot simply be removed from the home without a court order.
And that's the story of family court. Just because he abused [you, the mom] doesn't mean he will abuse [others, the chldren]. And this may be true. But who's willing to bet on it? (answer= GALS, judges, attorneys, CPS, Social Service)

Damn, gun violence. Dads and guns.

Now the remaining family members, the teenager and toddler, will be forever in CPS and/or foster care.

Peace be with you Bouavanh, Alexis, and Mathew.
