Possessing Child Porn

UPDATE--Whoops, I had forgotten to link within

I've been meaning to talk about this for awhile now. Child porn.

About a month ago, the Protect the Children from Internet Pornography Act passed (that wasn't the real name of the act) within days of Oprah featuring it on her show, dozens of organizations forwarding it around the net, and Congress returning from break. I have to tell you that I was majorly disappointed.

Now, I know you are confused. Of course I'm against child porn and trafficking. But I couldn't help but to feel a bit of pain that something like that could pass so quickly, when we mothers and children are sitting here dying and running from domestic violence and the abuses occurring in the family court system.

Don't we want to stop violence against women and children the same as stopping child porn and trafficking?

The bigger deal is that, while the cause for stopping child porn seems noble...in fact, an easy bandwagon to jump on...like stopping AIDS and Breast Cancer....has anyone, other than me, ever wondered why the people actually creating the child porn aren't caught and arrested? I mean, where are the people that are putting the child porn on the internet? Where are these children? Where are they coming from? Who has the money and the equipment and the space?

Sure, your state officials are caught looking at child porn, and even downloading it on the net...but I almost think that the idea of "catching" them is petty. Show me the directors and then I'll know that justice was served.
